The Beast Tournaments: Chapter Five

Chapter Five:

“BEASTBOY!” Raven forced her body to crawl after him, but other guards held her back. She screamed and thrashed around trying to break free. One of the guards hit her to shut her up.
“DON’T TOUCH HER!” Beastboy screamed at the guard as another pulled him away. More grabbed the other Titans before they could jump in.
Suddenly a voice echoed through the halls.
“STOP!”
Everyone froze, and slowly out of the shadows Manrch came with the help of Endalen.
“Manrch...nice of you to join us.” The king said, completely ignoring the fact that his legs had been crushed.
“I was just about to give these criminals what they deserve.”
Manrch tried to step forward but stumbled under the pressure of his weight. Endalen caught him.
“I see you found a friend.” The king said with a smirk.
“Beastboy is right! You are not fit to be king, You do not deserve the throne.”
The king’s smile slowly faded and he stood upright.
“and what are you going to do? Take it from me?”
Manrch smiled.
“Yes. Thats exactly what I’m going to do.”
The king laughed.
“And how do you propose to do that?”
“Reveal the truth.”
The king stopped laughing and his smile was less confident and more nervous.
“What?”
“and not only to you…” Manrch continued.
“But to the whole kingdom.”
The king sat back down. He watched as Manrch opened the window where below there were hundreds of citizens waiting to hear what was going on.
“People of Recon.” His voice was loud and echoed over them, their heads looked up at him.
“This man…” He pointed at the king in his throne.
“Is a coward and a liar.”
The king narrowed his eyebrows.
“...Because he’s not the King.”
The crowd gasped, even the guards jerked their heads in his direction.
“Liar! I am the King! Who are you to make such an accusation!”
Manrch limped over to him.
“The rightful heir to the throne.”
The kings eyes widened.
“Thats a lie!” The king yelled.
“Manrch? you're the king?” Beastboy said in disbelief.
“Should be.” He answered.
“My father died when I was a child. He was indeed the King. He had a side man who knew I was too young to understand that I was next in line. So he put his son in the throne.”
Manrch looked at the king. The crowd was silent. The titans just stared at both the king and Manrch.
“Give him what is rightfully his!” Endalen said firmly.
The King stared at the both of them for what seemed like hours then at the crowd. He very slowly reached up and took off the crown placed on his head and handed it to Manrch.
“...your majesty…” He mumbled then walked away. There was a long silence as Manrch slowly placed the crown on his head. and turned to the throne. Endalen smiled and sat him down. Manrch took a breath.
“... Stand down.” The guards hesitated.
“Stand down.” Manrch repeated. They slowly let go of the titans. Beastboy darted over to Raven.
“You ok?” She nodded.
“You will all get back you powers and leave peacefully, with one condition.” Robin walked over to him.
“What?”
Manrch smiled.
“On your way home inform Tameran that there will be no war.”
Robin smile and they shook hands.
“ You have our word.”

Manarch kept to his word and returned all their powers to The Titans and before they left Robin handed a Teen Titan Communicator to Manrch and telling him to call if he needed anything.
As the ship began to lift of the ground of the planet Beastboy saw a glimpse of Manrch and waved good bye with a friendly smile. He did the same and from behind Endalen gently took his hand in hers. Beastboy was happy for him. He got the girl he dream of. As he thought of this he turned his head to Raven who for the first time in a while was smiling at him, and it was a real smile.
They stopped at Tameran and assured them their would be no war and encouraged them to meet the new King of Recon.
After Everything was done they were finally back at the tower. Robin and Starfire felt truly relieved and both fell asleep on the sofa in eachothers arms. Cyborg decided to charge up his robotic half and locked himself up in his room for the rest of the day just to sleep. Raven was in her room putting a bandage on her wound the guard gave her when she tried to reach out to Beastboy. She then took a moment to just look in the mirror at herself. She had always felt she wasn't very pretty or worth anyones times. and as she heard her door open she smiled and turned away from the Mirror. Just as she thought, Beastboy stood In the middle of her room.
“Rav…” Before He could say anything She ran up to him and Wrapped her arms around him tightly.
“...Beastboy…” He voice quivered. He wrapped his arms around her as well.
“Raven.”
As they parted She look into his beautiful Green eyes.
“ Yesterday morning...I was afraid you were going to die…”
He smiled.
“ It’s gonna have to be something bigger than that to get rid of me.”
She rolled her eyes.
“ your still an Idiot.” She said jokingly.
“ Yeah, but I’m your idiot.” He replied. and with that he slowly place his hand on her cheek and just stared at her.
“...I thought i’d never see you again.” He whispered.
She placed her hand on his.
“ neither did I.”
Their heads slowly came in and within seconds their lips met gently and their eyes closed softly.
